We’re busy behind the scenes of the Seward Co-op Creamery Café, but we wanted to give a preview of what’s coming. We’ve taken the community’s feedback to heart and are using it to guide the vision for the new café. We have hired Katie Nielson as our Executive Chef and Tim Johnson as Front of House Manager. This week, Front of House staff participated in ZingTRAIN customer service training and will begin learning about the new menu as soon as it is finalized. Sonny’s Ice Cream out of Uptown will be providing our hand-dipped ice cream and we will continue to make our own housemade vanilla soft serve and rotating fruit sorbet flavors. The menu will feature some familiar favorites, as well as several new dishes that will range from vegetarian sandwiches to rotating fresh burger flavors to classic brunch fare. In terms of the physical space, we’ve repainted the wall, installed new outdoor signage, and will soon address the noisiness of the dining area by adding a variety of sound absorption panels throughout the space. Soon we will begin assembling the new grab n’ go beverage case, self-serve coffee and water station, and the ice cream service case. The new space will be open in September and we can’t wait to share it with you!
