Valentine’s Day at Seward Co-op Creamery Café

This Valentine’s Day treat someone special to a seasonal dinner at the Seward Co-op Creamery Café! We have extended our regular Tuesday hours to 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the full menu will be available until dinner service starts at 5 p.m. Call us to make your dinner reservation or feel free to stop by.

Our chefs have curated a special à la carte dinner menu aimed to please everyone — including those with dietary limitations. Look for beer and wine pairings on the menu from our knowledgeable front-of-house staff. We will feature an abundance of sustainable and organic ingredients, sourced, when possible, from local farmers with whom we have cultivated relationships for years. Couples and groups alike can order a starter and an entrée or a couple of starters or entrées to split. Just remember to save room for dessert.

The seasonality of our region is reflected in these winter dishes. You may notice that the focus of the menu has shifted from the bountiful Midwestern summer harvest to showcasing braised and stewed humanely raised animal proteins sourced from small, local farmers. Peterson’s Craft Meats and Whetstone Farm offer grass-fed, heritage breed beef and lamb. Rocky Acres and Star Prairie sustainably raise rabbits and farm trout, respectively. Thanks to Sissy’s Fresh Farm, our diners get the opportunity to consume something green and local year round. They do a remarkable job of growing our sprouts and microgreens.

Saturday Nights

$50 per couple

Choose the perfect beverage to sip — beer, wine, coffee, tea or a bottled beverage from our drink cooler. For starters, share a small plate or one of our appetizer-size side dishes. Follow that with your choice of two select entrees from our Classics menu. Save room for dessert! You can choose one of our daily scratch-made bakery items to split. If you have a hard time deciding, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our knowledgeable staff for a recommendation.

Co-op Creamery Café Update

We are writing to share with you our plan to relaunch the Seward Co-op Creamery Café. Since we closed the café for evening service last month, we have held multiple listening sessions with staff and owners. These have been very fruitful, and what we’ve heard has helped us shape the plan going forward, which is for a simple menu with familiar foods, at a fair price, using sustainably sourced ingredients, in a dining environment that is warm and conducive to conversation.   

Our goal is to celebrate the grand reopening of the café in late August. The key elements of the relaunch include:

•    An all-day menu with additional specials at night

•    Ice cream (we’ll add a frozen ice cream case so we can offer four flavors of ice cream in addition to our two soft serve options)

•    A family friendly environment

•    Repainted walls with warmer colors 

•    More producer images and information throughout the café 

•    Improved sound attenuation for a more comfortable dining experience

•    Exterior signage to make the café more welcoming 

•    Renaming the café “Seward Co-op Creamery Café” to more closely associate the café with Seward Co-op. 

In order to fully prepare and implement the changes needed for the relaunch we will close the café starting July 4. 

We want to thank our café staff and recognize them for all of their hard work, especially during this difficult transition. In July we plan to hire an Executive Chef and Front of House Supervisor who will lead the relaunch.
